Visiting Alto’s
Do I need to book?
We recommend booking, particularly at weekends and peak times, but we always aim to accommodate walk-ins where possible.
What is Alto’s Social?
Alto’s Social is Bury St Edmunds’ social playground, combining Augmented Reality Darts, Interactive Shuffle, cocktails, pizza and group experiences under one roof.
Whether you’re planning a date night, birthday celebration, team social or simply a night out with friends, Alto’s is designed to bring people together through a little friendly competition.
How do the games work?
Both AR Darts and Interactive Shuffle are designed to be easy to pick up and fun for all experience levels.
Our technology keeps score automatically, explains the game modes and lets you focus on enjoying the experience rather than learning complicated rules.
Do I need experience to play?
Not at all.
Both games are designed for complete beginners and seasoned competitors alike. Most people are up and running within minutes.
How many people can play?
Our standard game lanes accommodate groups of up to 8 players.
For larger groups, we offer dedicated game zones, Big Night Out experiences and exclusive hire options for celebrations, corporate events and special occasions.
What are your opening times?
Tuesday – Thursday: 5pm – 11pm
Friday: 1pm – 1am
Saturday: 11am – 1am
Sunday: 11am – 8pm
How many people can play?
Our online availability will show the latest available sessions each day. These times may vary seasonally and during the festive period.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes.
There are several public car parks within a short walk of Alto’s Social, including the Arc Shopping Centre, Ram Meadow and Parkway car parks.
All are within a few minutes’ walk of the venue, making Alto’s an easy destination for both local visitors and those travelling from further afield.
What is the difference between Alto’s Social and Canto?
Alto’s Social is our competitive socialising venue upstairs, built around games, drinks and group experiences.
Canto, our sister venue downstairs, is a wood-fired restaurant and cocktail bar focused on sharing food, drinks and social dining.
Both spaces work independently but can also be combined for a full experience. We recommend one of our interactive experiences, followed by Bottomless Brunch at Canto!
Food & Drink
Can I order food and drinks while playing?
Yes.
Food and drinks can be ordered throughout your booking and enjoyed from your lane or game zone. Orders will be brought directly to you by our dedicated team of hosts so you don’t miss a moment of action.
What food do you serve?
Our food offering takes inspiration from the iconic New York slice scene, with wood-fired pizza served by the slice throughout the day and late into the evening.
Perfect for sharing, grazing between games or fuelling a Big Night Out.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
We currently offer vegetarian options, although our vegan and gluten-free choices are more limited at this time.
Expanding our dietary offering is part of our future plans, and we expect additional options to be introduced as the menu develops.
If you have a specific dietary requirement, please contact us before booking and we’ll be happy to advise.
Is pizza available to takeaway?
Yes.
We will be offering pizza slices to takeaway. Whether you’re taking a slice home or just popping in for a takeaway slice, we’d love to welcome you.
What food do you serve?
Yes.
Whilst most guests visit for games, you’re welcome to join us for drinks, pizzas and the atmosphere.
Please note, this is available for walk-in space only, subject to availability.
Families & Young People
Are children allowed?
Yes. Children aged 11 – 15 are welcome during designated family session when accompanied by an adult.
Family session are available:
Wednesday: 5-7:30pm (last booking 6:30pm for a 60 minute experience, 6pm for a 90 minute experience)
Friday: 1pm-4pm during school holidays
Sunday: 11am-5pm
Our family social package is available during these times.
Can 16 & 17 year olds visit Alto’s?
Yes.
Guests aged 16 & 17 are welcome without an accompanying adult, subject to the following conditions:
- Maximum groups of 6 guests
- Tuesday – Thursday until 9:30pm
- Friday until 7pm
- Sunday during normal opening hours
- Not permitted on Saturdays
Please note that Alto’s operates a Challenge 25 and valid identification may be requested on arrival.
We reserve the right to refuse entry where appropriate.
Groups & Events
Do you cater for larger groups?
Absolutely, we encourage large groups!
We offer dedicated game zones for groups of 9-16, Big Night Out XL experiences for groups of 17 – 30 and exclusive venue hire for larger events.
What is the big night out?
The Big Night Out is our signature experience.
Combining AR Darts and Interactive Shuffle, it allows groups to enjoy both games in a single booking alongside food, drinks and plenty of friendly competition.
Can I hire Alto’s Social exclusively?
Yes.
Exclusive hire is available for larger celebrations, corporate events, networking evenings and Christmas parties.

Accessibility
Is Alto’s Social wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately not.
Alto’s Social is located on the first floor and access is currently via stairs only. Lift access is not available.
If accessibility requirements are a concern, please contact the team before booking and we will do our best to discuss suitable options within the wider venue.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and all major debit and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept Bitcoin.
Is Alto’s just for weekends?
Not at all.
Alto’s works just as well for a spontaneous midweek visit as it does for a Saturday celebration.
In fact, some of our most popular experiences, including Pay 60, Play 90 and Date Night Social, are designed specifically for quieter midweek sessions.
Are you taking Christmas bookings?
Yes.
We are currently taking Christmas bookings for 2026 and 2027. For larger bookings please get in touch via email and we will aim to get back to you as soon as possible. Smaller bookings can be made via our website.
